This piece can be viewed from both sides. Standing outside, the viewer sees a reflection of the natural world behind them. They are reminded to appreciate God's beautiful creation as they go about their day. However, as the viewer stands on the other side of the glass, they are invited to be pulled out of the classroom and into the world of sunshine and plants.

I created this piece because I wanted art students to be reminded to look up from their work every once and a while to appreciate what's around them. Sometimes as artists we get so bogged down in the details of a piece and forget to look at the bigger picture or the world around us. The soft imagery and dynamic movemnet of the tulips calls students to take a breather outside before returning to their work. This practice may even aid in inspiration and bring a new perspective to their piece.

Making this piece was fun, but also challenging. I did not expect it to be so hard to peel the adhesive off the back of my shapes. I enjoyed cutting out the flowers and arranging the petals in a way that represented wind blowing. I think getting them into a realistic wind blown look was the most challenging part.
