This project challenged me in a medium that I have never worked with before. I have never made anything out of wood before, so this took a lot of learning the tools. My partner Erika and I used wood found at our site to create the castle you see. The site is on Eucalyptus Hill, the midpoint between our rooms. We went for a set piece look to make the castle. The stone wall adds to the look of the castle and is what inspired us to make it. The door covers the opening in the stone and the towers extend just above it. I loved working with the wood that we found at the site. It was like a puzzle trying to figure out which pieces worked for each element and making sure we had enough of it. I especially love the blue color. The installation aspect was fun and thinkign about what people will think about it when they drive by. This is a route I often take and will love to see it as I pass by regularly.
